Peskov says to delist Telegram channels talking about QR bill

MOSCOW, Jan 12 (PRIME) -- The Russian president’s press secretary Dmitry Peskov advised on Wednesday to unsubscribe from the Telegram channels that say that a bill introducing COVID-free QR codes will be approved till February 1.

“Who says? Unsubscribe from these Telegram channels,” Peskov told the reporter who quoted the Telegram channels referring to sources in the State Duma, the parliament’s lower house, that the bill on the QR codes for transport and public places from February 1 would be approved amid the Omicron variant.

According to the bill, the QR codes for public places will be active till June 1. Until February 1, people with no QR codes will have to show a negative PCR test to visit such venues. After the date, the option will be available only for the people with a medical exemption. The bill on the QR codes for transport was withdrawn from consideration at the end of 2021.
